Why register?
HERE'S WHY:
- Proof of proper competency and accreditation.
- Recognition as a Qualified Plumber in the Plumbing Industry

- Help protect the consumer, the environment and the plumbing industry.
pirb designations
Requirements to hold and maintain:
- Completed and passed the relevant plumber trade test as specified in the manpower training act section 28 or 13
- Obtained a plumber qualification in terms of the Skills Development Act
- Pass the PIRB’s written board assessment in the five Core PIRB designation levels.
- Posess copies of applicable SANS Codes of Practice, Building Regulations and Local Water Bylaws documentation
- Renew registration every 12 months
- Obtain CPD points over the 12 month cycle within the CPD Rewards Program.
Requirements to hold and maintain:
- Must be between 18 and 35 years of age.
- Attended and passed the PIRB’s Induction programme.
- Provide details of the Licensed/Qualified Plumber which provided supervision or mentorship while completing your plumber training.
- Provide a contract or confirmation letter from their applicable training provider.
- Renew registration every 12 months.
- Obtain CPD points over the 12-month cycle within the CPD Rewards Program
- May not hold a Learner Designation for more than 4 registration cycles.
